How to hang Chinese jade breezeway tiles
Tips and tricks on channeling your tiki space's inner Trader Vic's
How does one go about hanging Chinese jade breezeway tiles in a tiki bar? I'm glad you asked! In this episode I partner with Stroud's Specifics to demonstrate how I install jade tiles in the Lagoon of Mystery. There are other ways of hanging these tiles, but I've had success with this method in the past and feel it's pretty straightforward. For those of you wondering what Chinese jade breezeway tiles are, they're a fired ceramic architectural element that became popular in tiki decor when Trader Vic started using them extensively in his restaurants around the world. They're sought after for home and commercial tiki bars to this day, but vintage tiles are increasingly difficult to source. Stroud's Specifics produces several skews of new tiles to partially fill that gaps.
Stroud's Specifics has sent me a pair of their jade Chinese breezeway tiles in exchange for my honest thoughts. In the interest of full disclosure, I did not pay for these tiles and neither was I paid for my thoughts. You get my full, unvarnished opinion here, folks!
