Diplomatico Mantuano is a Venezuelan rum that is a blend of molasses and cane syrup distillates aged between two and eight years. Diplomatico adds sugar to their rums--and isn't always up front about that, which leads to regular criticism from rum aficionados. Despite such criticism Diplomatico rums are often a gateway for newcomers to rum branching out and trying something "premium."
