Smith & Cross Traditional Jamaican Rum arrived on the scene in 2010 and took the rum world by storm. Blended by E&A Scheer of the Netherlands, the rum is the product of several Jamaican distilleries, all from pot stills. It is regarded as a “funky” rum, and at the time of its debut was certainly one of the most pungent spirits available in the U.S., although these days it is relatively mild when compared to such hogo monsters as Doctor Bird, Worthy Park Overproof and, of course, Rum Fire. But Smith & Cross blazed the trail for a new era in rum drinking, which begs the question: Does it daiquiri?
